We all have a plan for washing our hair – do I have somewhere to go today? Do I do sports today? Can I go one more day without washing it? Who doesn’t ask themselves these questions every day? But have you ever thought about the best time to wash your hair?
The best time to wash your hair
Experts recommend washing your hair in the evening because you have more time to care for it. Especially when it comes to drying, you should take some time. When wet, the hair structure is more sensitive and can break more easily. Therefore, an absolute no-go: Go to bed with damp hair!
However, there is no available time for washing your hair – the perfect time depends entirely on your hair type. Whether you have thick, fine, curly, dry or greasy hair, either morning or evening is ideal.
Thick hair
You are spoiled for choice if you have a thick and robust hair structure. You can wash your mane both in the morning and in the evening. After all, there is no lack of volume – and it doesn’t disappear when you snuggle into bed in the evening with freshly washed hair.
Fine hair
For thin hair, experts recommend washing it in the morning. Because of fine hair structure, it is often difficult to conjure up the volume. If you wash your hair in the evening, the hairstyle may be flattened at night when you sleep, and even the last bit of the already low volume disappears.
Oily hair
If you tend to have greasy hair quickly, washing it in the morning is best. Important for hair care: massage in the shampoo thoroughly, especially at the hairline, to prevent greasy roots. Avoid conditioner as much as possible, as it can make hair smooth even faster.
Curly hair
The time of shampooing does not matter with this type of hair. Curly hair can be washed in the morning and evening, depending on how you want to style them. Since curly hair usually takes longer, washing your hair in the evening is usually a little more relaxed because you have more time.
